Differences and similarities of Prokaryotic cell and Eukaryotic cell

Cells have some similarities

1) DNA ( Genetic Materials)
2) Cell membrane ( Which protect the cell)
3) Cytoplasm

Differences in cells

Prokaryotic cell

Pro- before Karyon - nucleus

Lack of nuclear membrane & DNA present free in cytoplasm

Membrane bounded organelles are absent

Ribosomes of 70s size present

Chromosome composed of  only DNA

cell wall made up of murein

respiration occurs in mesosome.

Eukaryotic cell

Eu- True Karyon - Nucleus

DNA is covered by nuclear membrane hence true nucleus present

Membrane bounded organelles present

Chromosome composed of protein and DNA

Ribosomes of 80s size present

Cell wall is made up of cellwas (plant) chitin ( fungi)

Respiration occurs in mitochondria.
